WAYNE'S END OF SEASON REVIEW...

What a thrilling climax the ‘Friday finale’ proved to be!!

We are all still on a high from beating Chasetown, and I am so proud of the staff and most importantly the group of players that have put on a ‘Stamford’ shirt this season. Winning via the ‘Play-off’ route, whilst nail biting, certainly adds to the drama and excitement. The victory will remain in the memory bank for a very long time indeed and the players have made their mark in the Stamford AFC history book!

Since I joined Stamford I have been well supported by my 'back room' personnel; David Staff, Dennis Rhule, Chris Palmer and last but not least Melly. Anyone who's had an ear to the dressing room door will know that Melly's been 'sacked approx 10 times since January' (only dressing room banter) but we certainly couldn't manage without him! Staffy and Dennis have a wealth of knowledge at this level and I am grateful for their input and enthusiasm.

For the fans and players It’s been an unbelievable season including a good cup run and always competing at the right end of the table! The title was just ‘out of our reach’ but we didn’t give up and the players have thoroughly deserved the plaudits over the last week and as we all witnessed on Friday if everyone works hard together as a team then the fortunes of success stay with you forever!

By winning promotion we have quickly gathered momentum as a Club and now need to make full use of this to move forward. Hopefully we will have a great future ahead. Stamford has gained a new Chairman, Stadium and now a new league to play in! We are likely to experience some tough times ahead in what will be a very competitive division but these are challenges that we should all embrace and lets prove that against all odds we can achieve survival. The endearing qualities that we have already shown will be a big asset to anyone who plays for this historic Football Club.

Enjoy the summer and roll on pre-season!!!!

STAMFORD AFC NAME NEW CHAIRMAN...

Bob Feetham has returned to Stamford AFC as chairman - for a second spell in that position. Following a unanimous decision by the club Board to invite
him back,

Bob said yesterday that he is delighted to become involved again. He continued: "A number of other commitments made it very difficult last time
round but now I am able to involve myself on a more regular basis

"These are exciting times indeed for the Daniels and I am wholeheartedly in support of the community involvement being developed round the proposed new
stadium. It is the way forward.

"I also feel that people at the club have handled difficulties over the last year extremely well and continued to make progress. For instance, on the youth front,  there was nothing when I was here before. Now we have nearly 200 registered youngsters across a number of age groups. That's all credit
to Guy Walton and a number of dedicated coaches."

"Finally, I arrive on the eve of a thrilling play off final at Kettering Road - that was some achievement to win at Belper and to do it is style.

Manager Wayne Hatswell has brought stability to the manager's role and I very much look forward to working with him."

Welcoming the appointment, Director John Burrows said "This is a very good appointment and it's good to see Bob back with such enthusiasm.  You could
argue that the next 12 months are the most important in the club's history as we prepare to move to a new ground. Bob's expertise and leadership will
be a great benefit to the club".

LIFE-SAVING KIT FOR THE DANIELS

Thanks to an FA initiative which will cover many football clubs throughout the country, Stamford AFC will take possession of a potentially life-saving defibrillator before the start of next season - and The Daniels Independent Supporters Club (DISC) has stepped in to provide the necessary funding.

The move follows the near on-pitch death of Bolton Wanderers' Fabrice Muamba at Tottenham Hotspur last year. Only desperate measures saved his life and it became apparent that immediately accessible heart equipment should be made available.

The FA and the British Heart Foundation worked together to negotiate a discounted price which is normally around £800.As a result, the cost to individual clubs has come down to £318.

DISC chairperson Richard Curtis commented: "The case of Fabrice Muamba last year showed that even professional footballers can have heart issues. We are happy, therefore, to provide the funding for this potentially life-saving equipment. We all hope that this is equipment that we do not have to use but, if it is required, can help save lives."

A defibrillator delivers a therapeutic dose of electric energy to the affected heart, allowing normal rhythms to be re-established.
