YOUNG DANIELS' MATCHDAY EXPERIENCE
4th March 2013
Stamford's match with Sutton Coldfield Town ended in a goalless stalemate but despite the lack of goals, it was an exciting day for the Young Daniels Under-11s.
The youth team squad attended the game and had the opportunity to get involved with most aspects of the first-team's matchday routine.
Coach Andy Noble explained: “Guy [Walton] invited the squad to the game following Wayne Hatswell's idea of the lads attending as ball boys.
"All our squad benefited from meeting the players, as well as Wayne and Staffy [Assistant manager David Staff].
"We joined the squad whilst they enjoyed a pre-match meal in the social club, we then had a photo session, trained on the pitch pre-kick off, walked the players and officials onto the pitch and accompanied commercial manager Paul Pepper and sponsor Whitby Hydraulics in presenting the match ball.”
The children were not only on the pitch before the game but at half-time, too.
At the interval, the crowd had the opportunity to see some potential future Daniels' first-team players when the youngster took park in a small-sided game.
Director Guy Walton commented: “Thanks to Wayne and Staffy who are keen to engage with the young players at the club.”
